On November 27nd 2008 Hauppauge FD met Smithtown FD on the field for the annual Thanksgiving morning Turkey Bowl. Hauppauge defeated the returning Champs 34-18. A Good time was had by all.

On June 22nd 2008 Truck Company, and portions of Engine's 1 & 4 personnel most affiliated with the technical rescue team conducted a learning practice session on the use of the different style cutting torches and saws the department possesses. The main prop was an old tank at an Islip Town yard in Bay Shore. Lead instructors were Lieutenant Steve Feron Jr. and Captain Donald Lynch and Ex-Captain Brett Martinez. |

On Sunday May 18th 2008 the Hauppauge Fire Department conducted a Standpipe Operations Drill at one of the Computer Associates Parking Garages. The Instructors were Asst Chiefs Raymond Germaine & Kenneth Furuno, Ex-Captain Joseph Jardin and Training Officer Edward Goutink. Two different exercises were conducted simultaneously. This group was instructed by Asst. Chief Furuno and Training Officer Goutink. The purpose of this exercise were to demonstrate some new techniques particularly in hose packing and hose stretching in confined areas such as stairwells and office corridors. |

On January 20th 2008 Hauppauge Fire Department Engines Company's 3 & 4 drilled at the Smithtown Fire Department maze /mask confidence facility. Engine 1 & Truck had done this drill the previous week and it was excellent training for all those that participated. Many thanks to the Smithtown Fire Department for the use of their facility and many thanks to Chiefs Kriklava, Germaine, Furuno and the training committee for arranging for this excellent exercise. |
Turkey Bowl 2007 |

On Thursday, November 22nd 2007 thanksgiving day the Smithtown Fire Department faced off against the Hauppauge Fire Department in the annual Turkey Bowl flag football game. The Smithtown Fire Department regained their championship crown after beating Hauppauge 40-8. In the end everyone had a great time. |

On October 20th 2007 the Hauppauge Fire Department participated in the Hauppauge High School Homecoming Parade. The Department was led in the parade by Chief of Department Thomas Kriklava and 1st Assistant Chief Raymond Germaine.The Ladies Auxiliary was led by there President Karen Mooney. The band playing for the Department was John Lombardo's Blue Devils. |

On June 2nd 2007 members of the FDNY, Hauppauge, Lakeland Fire Departments and the Town of Islip and the State of New York paid tribute to the late Peter Brennan who was a Lieutenant In Engine Company #1 of the Hauppauge Fire Department, A former member of the Lakeland Fire Department and a career member of Engine 288 detailed to Rescue 4 who made the supreme sacrifice on 09/11/01 at Manhattan Box 8087. Also present were Peters family whom participated in the sign unveiling dedicating a portion of Terry Road at Wedgewood Drive in Peter Brennans Memory. There a number of special dignitaries present at this event which was presided over by Hauppauge Chief of Department Thomas Kriklava. |

On Monday May 28th 2007 at approx 1:30 pm the Hauppauge Fire Department held a ceremony in remembrance of our countries military personnel who have made the supreme sacrifice and to reflect on the prior service of departed members of the Hauppauge Fire Department. We were led in this ceremony by Hauppauge Fire Department Benevolent President Christopher Hirsch and Chief of Department Thomas Kriklava Assistant Chiefs Raymond Germaine, Kenneth Furuno. Also participating was Ex-Chiefs Edward Crean, Thomas Fallona, Ronald Barz, Michael Mooney, Past Captain Robert Munro and Department Chaplin, Monsignor Francis Midura. |
